About me

My name is Nicky Adams. For years I’ve helped people struggling with life’s challenges – from university students to residents of a therapeutic community making a whole new start in life. I’ve managed large counselling teams based in residential clinics (including Clouds House in Wiltshire), community addiction services and prisons.

For nine years I was a lecturer with the University of Bath, teaching addiction counselling approaches. I now work as a therapist and am also the clinical supervisor and trainer for a young people's counselling service in London. I design therapeutic programmes and training for addiction professionals. As a clinical supervisor, I support  counsellors and ensure they are working safely and ethically.

“It was so useful to have this supervision space with Nicky as a number of times she held a mirror up to my face so I could pause and reflect on myself. Nicky provided me with an attentive, enquiring, and above all nurturing, trusting space.” J H
